How To Install Bedroom Sliding Doors Yourself Without Instructions

When it comes to home improvement projects, there are some things that you should hire professionals for, and others that can be done on your own. For example, installing bedroom sliding doors is inexpensive, easy, and can be done in about an hour. • First you'll need to shop for and purchase a roller door kit if you haven't already. Measure the interior of your closet doorway, to make sure that you purchase the right size of door. • Remove the top and bottom tracks as well, which should be as easy as removing the screws with something like a Stanley drill or prying up the nails.

• Take the piece from the kit that has the rollers on it, and place it on the upper edge of your door. Make sure that it is evenly in the middle, and then screw it down. If it looks like your door is now "hanging" from the piece, you did it right.

• Take the door track, which is what the roller piece fits into and "hangs" from, and screw it into the bottom of the upper door frame. If you purchased the right size kit, you shouldn't need to cut down the piece.

• Screw the bottom door runners to the floor of the frame, directly below the top track.

If you had sliding doors in place already, you should be able to compare the pieces you removed to the pieces you are installing, to make sure you are installing the right pieces in the right place. The top track will be obviously different from the bottom door runner. The top track will be designed for the door and rollers to hang from, while the bottom runner will be a simple piece to guide the door and keep it from swinging into and out of your closet while gliding.

Put the door back into the frame, and use the adjusting screws on the rollers to adjust their tension and height so that the door is level and glides easily. When installed correctly, the your bedroom sliding doors should glide open easily and not catch on anything such as protruding screws or bent tracks or runners.

At the end of the day though if you buy quality materials from a store like home depot, then you should have absolutely no problem firstly getting your money back if the materials fail, and secondly you can have the benefit of in store professionals who can advise you on how to fix it.
